Boomer Culture Inspired by Magnificent Leadership
Business culture can be a mystery for entrepreneurial SME businesses. Very few understand what drives the culture of their business let alone how to change it.
We have recently seen a magnificent example of a dynamic culture in action which we can all learn from. The Australian Boomers Basketball team and their amazing leader Patty Mills, literally bought the country to tears in clinching the Bronze Medal.
The team stood apart as it clearly articulated the culture they wanted to represent in their actions, the way they played and their selfless team first attitude. When the game was on the line, time and time again their leader stepped up and led the way. People followed.
In victory, they graciously acknowledge those that went before them, recognising the sacrifice of others which ultimately led to their success. Further, they then handed the baton to the Boomer sides of the future by declaring a new high-water mark in performance.
In James Clears book ‘Atomic Habits’, he highlights the need to focus on the process, rather than the outcomes in order to build successful habits that ultimately drive performance. It was the focus on process, that ultimately led to the Boomers success.
