Aspiration Inspires Action
Aspiration inspires action. Determining an engaging business aspiration is a dynamic first step to great strategic planning for entrepreneurial SME businesses looking to grow.
A clear business aspiration helps organisations communicate with their clients and staff. It creates an impetus for action. Action brings clarity and helps determine the appropriate use of scarce resources, enabling the building of capability in your organisation.
A great example of aspiration in action is the famous John F Kennedys Moon Shot program. Once the aspiration was articulated, resources then aligned, action created clarity and capability was developed. It does not matter if you’re NASA, a building company or the local Milk Bar, there will never be enough resources be they people resources, financial resources or infrastructure resources.
In the Business By Design program, entrepreneurial SME’s build a 10 year, three year and one year aspiration as popularised by Gino Wickman’s book ‘Traction’. I love this model as it helps business owners consider what the world could look like in the future and how they will grow to take the opportunities presented.
Aspiration is defined as, “a strong desire to achieve something high or great.” If you would like to learn more about how I can help you develop an impactful, practical and inspirational business aspiration, reach out.
